Here is the list of 5 items I have in my tubeless road bike saddle bag

Seat bags can get heavy

We spend thousands of dollars shaving small amounts of weight off our bikes, weigh them, then strap on a heavy filled up seat bag. Because most of us are’t racing, we will have a seat bag on our bikes 100% of the time. A great way to ensure you aren’t adding too much weight to your bike is to minimize the seat bag weight while still ensuring that you are ready for anything.

You get less flats with tubeless

Riding tubeless for the past 4 years, I have only once gotten a flat that didn’t self seal or I was able to plug. That means I only used one tube over 4 years! Tubeless tires use a sealant which when punctured, can heal the tire and you can keep rolling. Usually this happens without me even noticing and later I might see a little sealant that sprayed on the bike.

Specialized SWAT Mini CO2 Head $12

The Specialized SWAT Mini Co2 Head is simple and very light weight. It also comes with a plastic ring which you place on the top of your CO2 so that you can thread them together without puncturing the CO2 until you are ready. When you are ready, remove the plastic ring, thread the CO2 and inflator together fully, press the inflator onto your unscrewed presta valve, and unscrew the CO2 which lets the air into the tire.

Specialized SWAT Conceal Carry Tool $35

The Specialized SWAT Conceal Carry Tool is light weight and small and includes most of the tools you will need for pretty much any repair on the bike. It includes a 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8mm Allen Keys and a T25 Torx. I think the only one I wish they had in here was a 2.5 which is used on derailleurs and some other parts pretty often. Still a great tool for most of the on bike adjustments you should need

Dynaplug Racer Pro $57.99

The Dynaplug racer pro is quick way to plug up any hole that ins’t able to be plugged with the sealant. It comes with 2 different sides, one blunt and one sharp for different sized holes. It is quick to pull out and seal up a hole, usually before you even need to add more air.

Park Tool Tire Levers $4.95

These park tool tire levers have been great for me on any sized tire, from road to mountain. The lip on them is thin enough to get under the bead of the tire, but still stiff enough to be able to pull the tire over the rim. I usually carry one but usually it’s recommended to have two with you.

Tubalito Tubo-Road $35

https://amzn.to/40OVARa

The Tubalito Tubo-Road is probably the most expensive tube you would ever buy, but they are super light weight compared to a regular tube. These tubes weight only around 40g compared to normal tubes that weigh about 160-200g. A normal tube with a long valve probably would cost let’s say $9, so you are paying $26 to shave off over 120g of weight. Show me a better dollar per gram saved! The main reason I don’t mind buying an expensive tube with tubeless is because I haven’t had to use one in 4 years!

Conclusion

These are my preferred items I like to keep in my saddle bag on my tubeless road bike. You can save weight on your bike while still being responsible and safe out on the road!
